The historical records of Zeng Hou Yi (曾侯乙) and the kingdom Zeng (曾国) can be said to be non before his grave was discovered 1978. Most of what we know about him and the kingdom was pieced together from artifacts from his grave. Some think that Zeng Hou Yi was a brother of the Emperor of Zhou (周) and their surname is Ji (姬). His kingdom was situated somewhere in Hu Bei (湖北) and the Four Dragon Code of Arms is the code of arms of Kingdom Zeng ( 曾国 ). As the kingdom was never mentioned in any historical records, some said that the Zeng (曾国) and Sui (隋) are actually the same kingdom while other believe that it was a small kingdom that was neighboring Sui. However, one thing can be almost sure is that this Zeng Hou Yi and Kingdom Zeng are completely not related to Qu Lie(曲烈) and his Kingdom Zeng(鄫国) and has no relationship with the Zeng family we are talking here.

The Four Dragon Code of Arms

The Four dragon code of arms was discovered in 1978 amoung many artifact that were unearth from the Tome of Zeng Hou Yi”曾侯乙.Zeng Hou Yi was barried in 433 B.C. Approximately 2500 years ago.

The code was design with four similar dragons with unique way of layout. The dragons although look similar, they are unique by itself. The code will show a “曾even when the code is put up side down.
